G. R. O. W. Classes

BEGINNING NEXT SUNDAY, JANUARY 13!
Deepen your Spiritual Life with the new G. R. O. W. Classes
Each Sunday at 9am and 10:30am.

Nearly all of us long for vibrant spiritual growth, but we often find that our spiritual lives get squeezed out, overgrown or just plain dried up. The new series of GROW classes are designed to help you find ways cultivate your spiritual life each week with learning that will help you sink your spiritual roots deeper. As we've looked at Scripture, and the historical values of our denomination, we believe there are four essential elements that foster the transforming work of the Spirit: God's Word, Relationships, Obedient Living and Worship. We've used the word GROW as an acronym to make these four areas easy to remember. We hope you'll take advantage of the opportunities.

Winter 2008 classes...

9:00 A.M. SERVICE

The Jesus Creed:
Loving God, Loving Others (January - February)
Explore spiritual formation from Jesus' perspective as you study the book The Jesus Creed by North Park University professor Scot McKnight. The Jesus Creed unpacks Jesus' dual command to love God and love others, showing us the transformational power when we put the love commands into action in our lives and communities.
Pastor Mike will facilitate the class. Purchase of The Jesus Creed and a study guide will be highly recommended, but not required.

10:30 A.M. SERVICE

The GOSPEL of LUKE:
The Mission and Teaching of the Savior (January - April)
Be ready to dive into Luke's fascinating account of Jesus' life and mission. Weekly readings, reflection and discussion on topics ranging from prayer to parables to the poor; from Herod, to healing and the Holy Spirit will give you a fresh perspective on this unique and critical book of the Bible - as relevant today as ever! This class will be taught by Scott Moore.
Please bring your Bible to either class, and feel free to contact Pastor Mike Brown or Scott Moore through the Church office with any questions.
