Podcasting is a great way to get ongoing text, audio or video content
downloaded to your computer or personal media player. A podcast is actually
an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed which points to a media file.
The most popular podcasting application is currently iTunes, but several
others are available. Once configured, the application will automatically
check your podcast subscriptions to see if new content is available.
If updates are found, the content is automatically downloaded to your
computer.
Using iTunes
You can try using the automatic podcast link:
iTunes Podcast Loader
If that doesn't work, use the manual instructions below.
- Copy the URL to the RSS feed. The URL is:
http://ccccarvada.com/sermons.rss
- Open iTunes
- In the menu at the top, select the "Advanced" menu and then
click "Subscribe to Podcast"
- A dialogue box will open. Paste the URL into the dialogue box and
click "Ok".
That's it. iTunes will now find the podcast and show you the episodes that
are in the feed. It will automatically download the latest one. You can
change settings and manually download the older ones. Then every week after
the feed is updated, when you open iTunes, it will automatically download
the next sermon.
Using a different podcasting application
The steps for other applications will be very similar to iTunes. You
will need to copy the URL to the RSS file given above and paste it into
the appropriate place in the application.
