What does it mean
to be a seeker?

How can I
know God?

Gloria Merritt, Worship Leader

What year you joined the staff at 4Cs:
2002

What you do at 4Cs:
I plan and help facilitate worship services for our adult community, allowing me to work with a WONDERFUL and TALENTED team of volunteers.

Life History:
I’ve been a church musician since childhood, including being our church’s organist during my high school years. I began accompanying myself on the piano in 6th grade when doing solos at church. I have had the opportunity to receive excellent music training from very gifted instructors while growing up, enabling me to receive many musical awards. Composing songs began for me when I fell in love with the man I eventually married. In adulthood I served for 14 years as volunteer worship coordinator for a non-denominational church plant in Franklin, TN, prior to moving to Colorado in 1999. I enjoy arranging and re-writing old hymns, setting scripture to music, and participating in or writing dramas. I love my role as wife (to Gary) and mother to our six children. (Those four years of home-economics in high school have come in mighty handy!) I especially enjoy it when our family does anything musical, dramatic, or outdoorsy together.

What you enjoy doing on your day off:
Activities with my family, going to kids’ soccer games, shopping or dining out with my teen daughter, or connecting with friends.

List one of your most interesting memories/experiences:
A rather defining experience in my life took place a month after marrying Gary in 1979. I had a near fatal car accident, resulting in severe injuries. There were many miracles surrounding this event, and it helped to cement my perspective on the all-sufficient Lordship of Jesus Christ and His abundant love and grace.
